The globalization has laid way for citizen and companies operates between diverse countries. An exponential increase of transnational relations require professionals handling with all kind of legal documents and skills of international communication.
Firms, legal consultant's offices and company&rsquo,s legal departments demand professionals who certified their knowledge in legal English guaranted by a high quality training program.
The Centro de Estudios Garrigues, with the advising of the Legal European Studies Center of Columbia Law School, New York, offers the possibility for obtaining the Certification in Anglo-American Law attending the module designed for studing fundamentals of common law and basic legal aspects of the international relations.
In order to complete the legal English training and guarantee the learning of participants with an official certificate, the program is completed by another module whose primary target is to train participants in the different scopes of legal English to obtain the International Legal English Certification (ILEC) issued by the University of Cambridge.

OBJECTIVES
* To provide to those who develop their professional activity in legal areas, a training in English that enables them to study anglo american legal methodology and to obtain the International Legal English Certification (ILEC) expeded by the University of Cambridge.
* To train the participants in terminologies, expressions, concepts, styles, etc, that allows them to comfortably develop their legal activity in an international scope.
* To improve the writing and conversation skills in legal scope.
ILEC STRUCTURE
ILEC is an official certificate issued by the University of Cambridge that evaluate the participant&rsquo,s legal English level and capacity to effectively develop their activity in international legal surroundings.
This certificate evaluates the skills of the English language at the level B2 and C1 of European common framework. The exam will take 3.5 hours and consists of four tests: reading, writing, listening and conversation. It is developed twice a year: May and November.
The participant will have to demonstrate his capacity to use the English in practical and real situations within a legal professional context like participating in meetings, expressing professional opinions, developing public presentations, understanding legal texts, etc.
METHODOLOGY
The program is made up of two modules of contents:
* Anglo American Law Module
* International Legal English Module
The participant will develop an initial English test on which the work groups will be formed.
At any moment participants will work with real legal texts, as much for the speaking exercises like for writing exercises. In addition it will be solved any grammar difficulty that appears during the program.
The program has been designed in order to study the Anglo American Law and to promote participant handles the essential structures, the fundamental vocabulary and the communication skills, because of that in each session it will be putting in practice the four skills of language:
Reading, listening, writing and speaking.
ANGLO AMERICAN LAW METHODOLOGY
Participants will work in 10 knowledge areas about Anglo American legal procedures and legal skills for lawyers. Keynote practitioner speakers, &ldquo,who have been there and done it&rdquo,, will offer significant insight into the practical nature of giving legal advisory in and international context.

In the Legal International English Module it is included the book &ldquo,Legal International English + Audio CDs + Answers&rdquo, published by Cambridge University Press and documentation about expressions, vocabulary, exercises test for preparing the exam, etc.
In the Anglo American Law Module it is included the book &ldquo,Anglo American Law Fundamentals&rdquo, and documentation about contracts, practice cases, etc.
The ILEC Examination is developed by Cambridge University, which will be realized in British Council facilities. Exam fees are not included in the program application fees.
